24 00-45217 On Thursday, the fifth day of Passover week, the week in which He was to die, Jesus gathered His disciples in an upper room to celebrate the Passover and to share what He knew would be the final meal with His friends. There, as the evening shadows flickered on the walls, Jesus broke the bread, saying: "Take it. Eat it. This is my body which is broken for you. Do this in remembrance of me." In the same way, after the supper He lifted the cup, saying: "Take and drink. This is my blood of the covenant which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins." And together they sang: Blessed be the name of the Lord, from this time forth and forevermore. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia.
