Dan Forrest. This major work is a
seven-movement setting of Psalm
100 predominantly in Latin. Inserted
within the work are interjections of
the text "Shout to the Lord, all ye
lands!" in eight different languages.
Pronunciation guides to these
languages are available and help to
make the work accessible. There are
three different orchestration pieces
available, from the large orchestra to
a nine-instrument chamber version.
This piece was commissioned by
the Indianapolis Children's Chorus
to honor its distinguished conductor
of 30 years, Henry Leck. Seen by the
composer as a partner composition
to his Requiem for the Living,
Jubilate Deo is a great addition to
the repertoire. Highly recommended!
