Before the coming of Jesus, the world was lost in
darkness. Political oppression weighed heavily
worldwide.
God's prophets had promised His faithful the
advent of a messiah, but it had been so long.
Would this be the year that their Deliverer…their
King…would finally arrive?
How long will you forget us, O Lord? How long
will You hide Your Face from us?
And yet, the darkness was illuminated by God's
promise. The joy of hope arose from those who
trusted in God's faithfulness.
Sing alleluia! Christ will come!
