There is some written or improvised jazz for 2nd trumpet in harmon mute, and the lead trumpet has a unison line to written high E. A nice sax soli is the icing on the cake. This is an awesome Mingus double-time swing chart in the original version as recorded on the Mingus Big Band 93 CD. Alan Baylock crafts a great swinger on one of Coltrane's brilliant compositions. Set around 208 bpm, this chart includes solo space for alto and tenor and a lead trumpet range to written high C.
