Beginning with a simple texture, the lush added-note harmony ebbs and flows expressively toward radiant climaxes. Significant divisi throughout. Lovely. 11205739 SATB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.25 L Ocean of Light—Carson Cooman. The words of Phineas Fletcher receive a vibrant setting by Carson Cooman in this anthem that depicts God as the sun that is the "ocean of light," filling the world. Dissonant yet filled with wonder. An excellent cathedral-like anthem. 11165871 SATB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.20 Psalm 100: Make Joyful Noise—Clayton White. This anthem is a reduction of Clayton White's four- movement cantata on Psalm 100. Opening with a "joyful noise" in the form of quartal harmonies in both chordal and contrapuntal parts, contrasting sections then follow: a slower a cappella section, followed by lyric treble voices over a flowing accompaniment, which then rebuilds to the opening volume, ending as it began, with a joyful noise to fill the sanctuary! 11169367 SATB divisi. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.65 Psalm 139—Michael Burkhardt. A mysterious introduction using keyboard, optional handbells, and oboe gives way to a slow, lyrical 6/8 setting of the psalm. Almost like a courtly dance, the tempo fluctuates with the spirit of the text. After a reprise of the introductory material, the anthem becomes almost through-composed, reflecting the emotional arch of the words. Some a cappella sections provide nice contrast. 11164393 SATB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.70 11164394 Instrumental Parts Organ Part. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 10.00 L Psalm 19—James J. Chepponis. This festive setting of Psalm 19 alternates refrains and different sets of verses, making it work in multiple liturgies where Psalm 19 is appointed. Both assembly and choral writing are very singable and can be sung in English, Spanish, or a combination of the two. Accompaniment options include organ or chamber orchestra. 11199752 SATB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.25 11201157 SATB Bilingual . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.25 11199753 Flute & Oboe Parts. . . . . . . . . 10.00 11199754 Brass & Percussion Parts . . . . 35.00 11199755 String Parts . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 35.00 11199756 Full Score . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 25.00 11201158 Full Score Bilingual. . . . . . . . . 25.00 Rejoice in the Lord—David Bednall. This fast and festive setting of Psalm 33 moves along in a joyful dance. After an exuberant opening, a lively organ passage leads into a beautiful moment of stillness in the choir, unaccompanied, creating an effective contrast before an emphatic closing statement of rejoicing. 11315628 SATB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 3.25 H Requiem—Eliza Gilkyson/arr. Craig Hella Johnson. Singer/songwriter Eliza Gilkyson wrote Requiem as a song of grief following the Asian tsunami in December 2004, and the song found a renewed audience after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast region. This setting by Conspirare conductor Craig Hella Johnson is powerful in its emotional impact. 10045096 SATB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1.95 L Sanctus—Dan Forrest. A number of movements from Requiem for the Living by Dan Forrest comfortably stand alone. The Sanctus, movement IV from the work, is scored for divisi mixed chorus with keyboard or orchestra (full or chamber). For the advanced church, collegiate, or community ensemble, the piece could easily open a concert or be used on Christ the King Sunday. Powerful! 11202060 SATB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 3.75 L Set Me as a Seal—Robert Scholz/arr. David Scholz. The familiar Song of Solomon text is framed by modern liturgy and 'For love is of God' (1 John 4:7). All parts share in delivering and supporting the warm melody and rich harmonies, connected by a solo instrumental line. Emotionally moving, romantic style. 11316658 SATB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.25 11316659 Instrumental Parts Violin (Inst. in C Treble Clef). . . . . . . . 5.00 D Set Me as a Seal—Michael John Trotta. Elegant Lt simplicity is the hallmark of this shimmering setting of a favorite text: "Set me as a seal upon your heart ... for love is as strong as death." Straightforward rhythms, careful management of vocal ranges, and a judicious use of close cluster harmonies put this work well within the reach of many choirs. A perfect choice for choirs looking to establish a more mature sound and musical sensitivity. 11163997 SATB A Cappella . . . . . . . . . . . 2.50 11344326 SATB with Piano Accompaniment . . . . . . . 2.75 lL Sing Hallelujah to God—Horatio Parker/ed. David P. DeVenney. From the American Romantic Choral Series comes this classical choral piece. Horatio Parker was a professor at Yale and one of the most influential composers of his time. His mastery of contrapuntal writing makes this an excellent teaching piece as well as a worthy anthem for concert or worship. 11342373 SATB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.55 L Song of the Earth—Dan Forrest. This piece is the sixth movement from Dan Forrest's extended work "Jubilate Deo." Here published separately, the piece calls for mixed chorus, optional treble chorus, and piano, organ, or orchestra. This movement can easily stand alone and is particularly appropriate for Earth Day concerts as well as other performances. 11196167 SATB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.55 N E W F O R 2 0 2 1 E D I T O R S ' C H O I C E Source of All Healing—Michael John Trotta. This outstanding original anthem quietly brings the listener into a prayerful time seeking wholeness. Recalling miracles of healing, the response is to ask for healing in body and soul. Slightly discordant harmonies recall sin and pain before a beautiful harmonic refrain responds, "Come, Holy Jesus, abide with me now." A wide dynamic range brings the inspired words to life, and the ministry of the message speaks to any worship gathering with firm assurance. 11347590 SATB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.10 l Still—Heather Sorenson. This sacred tone poem is a prayer for peace and a plea for healing of the heart. The anthem rises from a single tone, ebbing and flowing into harmony, then back into simplicity with just a touch of dissonance. As the words become more impassioned, flowing piano interludes match their intensity. This petition for calm begins to quiet as the anthem winds down, allowing the prayer to end in hushed chords of assurance. 11347591 SATB divisi. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.10 L Teach Me, O Lord—David Ashley White. Psalm 139 is filled with memorable verses, and David Ashley White has chosen two for this lyrical anthem. The rising and falling melodic lines have a yearning quality that fits the invocatory nature of the text. 11167115 SATB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1.95 There Is Joy in the Morning!—Gwyneth Walker. Conveying a message of joy after darkness and dancing after sorrow, this setting of Psalm 30 features accessible SATB writing with some brief divisi, short solos for soprano and baritone, and a short a cappella passage. The supportive piano accompaniment is, by turns, boldly energetic and lyrically flowing. 11164423 SATB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.50 L This Is My Servant—Alfred V. Fedak. Words from Isaiah 42 make this an excellent anthem for occasions celebrating service, especially ordinations, anniversaries, and retirements. Fedak's dignified and lyrical music is homophonic and easy to sing, making this an especially good choice for those occasions when a massed choir or visiting members are involved. Beginning moderately, the piece builds to a broad and exultant conclusion. 11167111 SATB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.00 N E W F O R 2 0 2 1 E D I T O R S ' C H O I C E D Ubi Caritas—Michael John Trotta. The beloved Lt Latin text is set in an elegantly simple texture with conservative ranges. Straightforward rhythms and moments of release create a tapestry of sound that surrounds the optional solo chant line, which may be sung by a soloist or performed by a C instrument. Beautiful modern harmonies and cluster chords create an artistic setting that is equally appropriate for service use or the concert stage. Taken from Arnesen's major work "Tuvayhun," this third movement is also known as The Peacemakers. 11160530 SATB opt. a Cappella . . . . . . . . 2.85 11160531 SSAA opt. a Cappella . . . . . . . . 2.85 T H E R E ' S M O R E O N L I N E ! !
