Kris Berg pens an incredibly cool Tower of Power style funk chart that sets your band up to blow the roof off the concert hall! Here, he's cooked up another smokin' chart to pay homage to the, shall we say, more bird-brained amongst us? This one is easier than Chicken and more challenging than Tastes Like Chicken, and is one hot chart. Mmmm, mmm, good! 2474236 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . .52.00 Gears—Les Sabina. Gears combines old school funk and modal rock, along with a bit of blues- tinged melody. The solo section is written out, and solo sheets in all keys with scales to assist young players with improvisation are included. Playable with optional reduced or expanded instrumentations, this is an ideal choice for instruction and performance! 10857531 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . .48.00 Go for It!—Paul Clark. Let the trumpets show off, like they always want to do, with Go for It!, a hard-driving jazz/rock chart in the style of the group Chase. While featuring the trumpet section, all sections get their time in the spotlight with some interplay between the saxes and trombones, and the drummer even gets to do some hard-rock licks after the solo section - but it's the trumpets who take command. If you want some flashy excitement at your next performance, you just have to "go for it!" A super chart that's highly recommended! 11002295 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . .50.00 N E W F O R 2 0 2 1 E D I T O R S ' C H O I C E l Grazing in the Grass—Philemon Hou/arr. Rick Stitzel.
