Typically a ballad, this treatment is a straight-
eighth feel with smooth cascading lines. Written-
out solos are provided for trumpet and alto.
Includeds a few sax solos and beautiful harmonies.

staff. Optional parts include flute, clarinet, vibes,

Accounting Error—David Larsen. This driving
rock beat with a melody that's in your face uses a
standard form - but with a twist. This funky piece
is a great way to introduce your young band to
the blues form. Play the written solos, or open it
up for creative exploration.

H Africa—Paich & Porcaro/arr. Ralph Ford. Here's
a wonderful take on the group Toto's classic rock
tune from the '80s. It's solidly scored throughout
and sounds amazingly like the original while
remaining accessible for developing jazz bands.
With nice dynamic contrasts, an uncomplicated
melodic line, and a medium rock groove, this
chart is one that younger players can really dig
into, yet it will sound mature when performed by
a more advanced group. More features include:
half-note tempo of 90 bpm; written or ad lib solos
for alto sax 1 and trombone 1; trumpet 1 range to
written G on top of the staff; and optional parts for
flute, clarinet and vibes. Great tune, fine chart!

Africa—Paich & Porcaro/arr. John Wasson.
Originally a #1 hit for Toto in the early 1980s,
and recorded again by the group Weezer, this
powerful rock anthem features a distinctive
groove and memorable lines. In this chart it's
given a contemporary spin while maintaining the
feel and drive of the original. There's solo space
for trumpet. Highly recommended!

All Star—arr. Paul Murtha. Featured in the
movie "Shrek," this familiar hit by Smash Mouth
has become an enduring part of pop culture.
This arrangement for young players features the
melody passed from section to section, and the
players even get to whistle! Written or improvised
solos can be played by any combination of alto
sax, trumpet, or trombone. Playable with optional
reduced or expanded instrumentations, this will
be fun for everyone!
11100172 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . E 40.00
All the Goss—Lachlan Davidson. A great show
starter, this is a fun chart with elements of gospel
and rock. A strong introduction sets the tone,
followed by a unison trombone melody which
is then shared around the sections. With solos
from trumpet and tenor saxophone, we are back
through a second bridge before a big finish.
Catchy melody, great chart!
11347393 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . M 50.00
Apocalypse—Larry Barton. An intense, hard-
hitting, up-tempo rock tune with the feel of a
cataclysmic event! Played at around 150 bpm,
it features repetitive rhythms and patterns that
guarantee jazz bands will be performance-
ready with minimal rehearsal time. With careful
attention to instrument ranges and written-
out solos over easy changes, this chart will be
accessible for developing ensembles as well as a
lot of fun for more advanced groups. All this, and
it's playable with optional limited instrumentation.
Pure excitement!

At the End of the Day—Rosana Eckert/arr.
Michele Weir & Blair Bielawski. This stunning
music was written by Dallas-based Rosana
Eckert for her debut album in 2003. It is a light
and sophisticated bossa with some gorgeous
harmony. There is an eight-measure written or ad
lib solo that may be played by tenor saxophone
and/or guitar. Though not technically demanding,
this chart does require some thoughtful playing by
the winds and rhythm section. A unique choice!
11346096 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . E 50.00
Bad Apple—Ryan Fraley. Let the rhythm section
lay down an earthy groove in half-time funk. The
horns ride along with a bluesy melody that builds
to a great stop-time. Modest ranges all around
with reduced instrumentation (three saxes, two
trumpets, one trombone) keep it within reach of
smaller groups (top trumpet note is D5), while
extra parts for flute, clarinet, horn, baritone
T.C., and tuba add flexibility. Solo transcriptions
that match the recording are provided along
with easier versions of those solos to give
younger players a starting point. A hip, fun, and
memorable chart.
11347655 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . E 40.00
Billy Boy—arr. Victor Lopez. A modern treatment
of the well-known folk song with some modern
harmony and easy syncopation. This features a
medium rock groove with the trumpet 1 range to
written E top space. There are no solos, so this
is a great opportunity to teach ensemble playing,
and there are optional parts for two flutes, two
clarinets, vibes, and more. A win-win!
11355016 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . VE 40.00
H Birdland—Josef Zawinul/arr. Victor Lopez. Just
listen to this chart and you know you have to have
it as Victor Lopez brings the original Weather
Report version to life for jazz ensembles. All the
ingredients are here, plus solo space (written
or improvised) for alto 1 and/or trumpet 2, nice
chord voicings throughout, and the lead trumpet
top note is only a written G on top of the staff. Very
easy to assemble and perform, this will be a hit
every time! Optional expanded instrumentation.
10277740 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . M 52.00
H Birdland—Josef Zawinul/arr. Michael Sweeney.
Here's an excellent, easy version of Josef
Zawinul's great jazz tune! Solid writing all the way
and no solos required.
2230910 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . E 40.00
Birdland—Josef Zawinul/arr. John Berry.
Originally composed for Weather Report and
released in 1967, Joe Zawinul's quintessential jazz
fusion standard has been recorded by countless
artists through the years. This chart is a slightly
truncated version for young players that still
retains the dynamic feel and sound of the original.
Ideal for young players, it's scored for standard
jazz ensemble with no solos but is playable with
optional reduced or expanded instrumentations.
Always a favorite and highly recommended!
10960676 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . VE 40.00
Blue Groove—Ethan Freier. This easy-level funk
chart has a great groove and nice lower voice
writing that adds to the excitement. Classic funk
horn lines combine with a driving rhythmic pulse
to create an instant classic. The features include
moderate ranges, notated rhythm section parts,
open solo sections, and options for reduced or
expanded instrumentation. The solo section is
open for as many players as desired, and for
novice jazzers not wishing to try their hand at
improvisation, suggested solo sheets in all keys
are included. A wonderful instructional vehicle!
11000557 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . E 48.00
Bluestone Lane—Roger Schmidli. Feature your
lead trombone with this great chart. Things start
off sultry with a written solo and ethereal lines
in the saxophones and trumpets. When things
come together, it has some punch. Later on, the
trombonist improvises for an extended solo. If
you are looking to feature your lead trombone and
have a great group that can back them up, go for
this chart!
11347399 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . M 55.00
Box of Rock—Larry Clark. Here's an
approachable rock tune with a fun twist - it is
built on ten-measure phrases! Your band will
sound great in a hurry and will have a blast in
the process. Punchy brass licks and outstanding
saxophone lines are features of this engaging
rock chart. There are solos for trumpet and
trombone. As a bonus, there is a separate guitar
chord frame chart specifically for this piece that
has basic and more advanced diagrams.
11346102 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . VE 45.00
H Chameleon—Herbie Hancock/arr. Victor Lopez.
Herbie Hancock for the developing band? Yes!
From Hancock's famous Headhunter recording,
here is a great opportunity to play the biggest
jazz-rock hit of all time. The melody is first played
by alto, tenor, trumpet and trombone, then the
trumpet section. Next up is a flexible, open solo
section with a solo line written for all the winds so
anybody or everyone can solo! The top note for
lead trumpet is written G on top of the staff. Super-
cool chart! Optional expanded instrumentation.
