whatever title you choose - What a Fellowship
or Leaning on the Everlasting Arms - this 19th-
century gospel classic is sure to please singer

What a Friend We Have in Jesus—Michael
Larkin. A lovely original melody provides fresh
insight into this beloved 19th-century text.
The choral texture flows easily from unison
to fuller vocals, and verse two boasts canonic
entrances. Tonal shifts delineate the text's
mood changes, and the piano supports and
complements the voices. Easily taught and
very memorable.

comes. Unison sections give way to full choir
accompanied by a supportive piano. Enjoy this
beautiful arrangement of affirmation of faith.

arr. Richard A. Nichols. Proclaiming a majestic

challenging but interesting anthem that praises
an almighty and unchanging Father.

Amazing Grace—arr. Benjamin David
Knoedler. This marvelous new arrangement of
the classic hymn begins with children "oohing"
the melody over a quiet piano accompaniment.
Their sustained "oohs" continue while the
piano takes a verse. Two sung verses are
followed by the hymn ending as gently as it
began. This is a lovely, effective arrangement
of the familiar hymn that can be sung by adults
as well as children.

Anthem of Rejoicing—Joseph M. Martin.
This vigorous general-use anthem is a
sturdy addition to the choir folder. Solid
four-part writing gives a neoclassic texture,
while strong unison singing delivers power
and confidence to the singers. The middle
section incorporates lines from beloved
hymns, tossing them back and forth with the
anthem's main theme. Add in the optional
handbells for a dazzling effect! Delightful!

As You Serve, Remember Me—Joel
Raney. This reflective anthem comes from

At the Name of Jesus—Larry Shackley.
Starting gently and gradually building towards
a powerful close, this anthem opens with
Ralph Vaughan Williams'
KINGS WESTON tune
paired with a time-honored text by Caroline
Noel. An original melody enters in verse three
which alternates men's and women's voices.
The hymn tune returns for a dramatic close,
making this a great choice for Christ the King
Sunday, Ascension, and general use.

Ave Maria—Giulio Caccini/arr. Patrick
Liebergen. This haunting melody from the
Italian Renaissance has been recorded most
recently by Charlotte Church and Andrea
Bocelli. Patrick Liebergen's setting features
straightforward vocal lines, a supportive piano
accompaniment, and an optional flute part that
is never overstated, but lets the enchanting
melody and harmonies speak for themselves.
Expressive and beautiful at every turn, this is a
glorious addition to sacred choral literature!

Awake, My Soul—Elaine Hagenberg.
A brilliant, pulsating piano introduction
announces the dawn and invites the voices
to join with escalating calls to "Awake, my
soul!" As the pulsing continues, the vocal
counterpoint gives way to the chordal
acclamation, "I will awaken the dawn!" This
setting of Psalm 57:8-11 requires an above
average accompanist and an energetic choir,
but the artistic result will be worth the effort.
