memorialize Maddie Milner, a trumpet player

In the very first performance of this piece, the conductor
performed with over 850 musicians! Talk about a "Band-
o-rama"! For years, directors have asked for pieces
that can be performed with mass bands, whether as a
culminating number in a multi-school concert, or as a
recruitment tool to keep younger bandsmen motivated.
In some instances, one school will have multiple bands,
each at a different ability level. This piece will meet

Shorewood Overture—Michael Sweeney.
Shorewood Overture is designed to be performed by
multi-level bands. Rather than the typical massed band
number in which everyone plays at once, this ingenious
overture allows each level to be featured briefly by itself,
along with sections when everyone plays together. In
