Flexible handbell arrangements for 4-5 ringers or
2-3 octave ensembles and piano
arr. Karen L. Buckwalter.

ERFREUEN; LAND OF REST,
and the Spanish hymn tune SOMOS DEL
SENOR,
has three separate lines of music which may be combined in
a variety of ways depending on the number of ringers available. Part 2
is always the essential part and requires 4-5 ringers. With more ringers,
Part 1 and 3 can be added. Part 1 is a descant playable on either table
or tree. Part 3 adds bells down to C4. With 10-11 ringers you will be
able to ring each tune as a 2-3 octave arrangement. These well-crafted
compositions add versatility and flexibility to your handbell ministry.

Carried on Cerulean Waters
Julie C. Stitt.
This lovely original was composed in memory of a personal friend of
the composer. This beautifully emotive piece uses the metaphor of
water, ever-flowing and ever-changing, to represent life's unpredictable
journey: serene, turbulent, joyful, restless, stormy. The three distinct
melodic sections transport the listener through major and minor
keys, complex chords, and tempo changes. An optional flute part
complements the piece by providing a beautiful countermelody
throughout. Added handchimes provide contrast, depth, and feeling.
The final key change brings it back to the beginning melody in an
uplifting reminder that our journey in life does not end, but continues in
God's peaceful embrace.

The Church's One Foundation
arr. Ron Mallory.
Set in trademark Mallory style, the piece opens with a cheerful rhythmic
motif and alternating 6/8 and 3/4 meters that turn the staid hymn tune
AURELIA into more of a dance. A slower and more majestic chime
verse (optional 3 octaves) leads back to the opening energy. Optional
flute adds lilting contrast. This arrangement has everything ringers could
ask for and will enliven any worship or festival setting.
