A winter scene is painted gently with bells at the beginning before the piece takes off in a blizzard of sparkling flourishes and catchy rhythms. This versatile work is appropriate for a winter or holiday concert, but it will also make a powerful and fun statement at a festival. Sure to be a hit with your audiences and adjudicators, whatever the season! 11400089 Band Set & Score. . . . . .75.00 Tree City Triptych—Chris Sharp. This piece uses the three-note motive G-C-B as the basis for the entire piece. It features a driving opening movement, a lyrical middle section, and a triumphant finale. Great for concerts and assessments. 11622681 Band Set & Score. . . . . .75.00 Trip the Light Fantastic!—Robert Sheldon. Tuneful and lighthearted, this piece features syncopated rhythms and a touch of Lydian modality to enhance its playfulness. The title, borrowed from a poem by John Milton, means to dance nimbly and land lightly using fancy footwork - most appropriate for a composition that also seems to dance nimbly and land lightly on the listener's ear. (5:00) 11616382 Band Set & Score. . . . . .80.00 Tuttarana—Reena Esmail. The title of this piece is a conglomeration of two words: the Italian word 'tutti', means 'all' or 'everyone', and the term 'tarana' designates a specific Hindustani (North Indian) musical form, whose closest Western counterpart is the 'scat' in jazz. The tarana is a place where musicians can put their greatest virtuosity on display, leaving an audience in awe. While a tarana is a solo form, I wanted to bring that same energy to an ensemble form. This work was originally written for treble chorus, then arranged for brass quintet, and is now in its third iteration for concert band. 11605336 Band Set & Score. . . . .150.00 Under the Night Sky in the Philippines— Robert Langenfeld. This interpretation of two Filipino lullabies, Dandansoy and Sa Ugoy ng Duyan, invokes the feeling we all got as children when our guardians sang us to sleep. But more importantly, it's about bringing the culture of the Philippines to a new generation and helping celebrate and honor it. The collaborators on this project dedicate this work to the culture and country of the Philippines and all of the people in our lives who come from and are descendants of these islands. If no soprano is available, alternative instrumental solo parts are provided. 11590867 Band Set & Score. . . . .100.00 11590868 Additional Score . . . . . . .35.00 Undertow—John Mackey. A flash of musical lightning that will exhilarate listeners at all levels! An infectious rhythmic pulse is created with alternating 4/4 and 7/8 measures that drives the work forward from start to finish. Active percussion parts add to the overall appeal of this lively and very creative work! 10056743 Band Set & Score. . . . .145.00 Until We Dream—David Samuel. This heartfelt tribute in memory of a beloved pet is an open door into any pet owner's heart. A lush and soaring work that will inspire musicians and audiences, stretch musician- ship, and provide many opportunities for reflection, understanding, and empathy. 11562013 Band Set & Score. . . . . .75.00 The Veil Nebula—Jennifer Rose. Mysterious and otherworldly, this Grade 3.5 work is inspired by the remnants of a supernova in the Cygnus constellation. Intriguing harmonies, colorful orchestration, and the eerie voice of a theremin (or synthesizer) create a shimmering, celestial soundscape. Shifting textures and mood evoke the timeless beauty of space, while stunning NASA imagery of the Veil Nebula can enhance the performance with a powerful visual connection. A unique and atmospheric addition to any concert or festival program. 11622938 Band Set & Score. . . . . .80.00 Vesti la giubba—Ruggero Leoncavallo/ arr. Jordi Ripoll. In 1902, Enrico Caruso's recording of this aria for tenor from the opera "Pagliacci" was the first song in history to sell a million copies. It is sung at the end of the first act, when Canio discovers his wife's infidelity but must prepare for a show by playing the role of Pagliaccio, the clown. This arrangement adapts perfectly to the lyrical characteristics of the trombone and euphonium as it allows the performer to show all their expressive potential. 11624904 Band Set & Score. . . . . .70.00 Vielle priere bouddhique (Old Buddhist Prayer)—Lili Boulanger/arr. Travis Freshner. Originally for chorus and orchestra, this work was one of the last pieces Lili Boulanger composed before her untimely death at the age of 24 in 1918. It beautifully encapsulates themes of spirituality and reflection and is notable for its serene and meditative quality, which mirrors the contemplative nature of Buddhist prayers. The arranger expertly transforms this piece for the modern concert band (without chorus) while staying true to the composer's original intent. A glossary of French terms is included, as are the original French lyrics and English translation. 11618995 Band Set & Score. . . . . .90.00 Voices of the Sky—Samuel Hazo. The many qualities and changes in appearance of the sky are translated into musical moods through this expressive work. The opening lyric section flows between soloistic and full ensemble playing and leads to a "sinister" fast section of driving rhythms and mixed meter that crescendos to a powerful new setting of the original melody to close the work. Impeccable timing and emotional pacing sustain and propel this effective work. 10005344 Band Set & Score. . . . . .80.00 Voyage of the Northern Lights— Isabella Morrill. This descriptive work is a musical narrative that comes from an old Scandinavian folk tale. It explains that the beautiful, awe-inspiring northern lights are actually carrying fallen Vikings up to Valhalla. Other versions say that the lights were the dying warriors' final exhales and farewells before entering the afterlife. Winner of the 2022 National Band Association Merrill Jones Memorial Band Composition Contest. 11574103 Band Set & Score. . . . .100.00 Wayfaring Stranger—arr. Christopher M. Nelson. This lush and colorful setting of the folk song Poor Wayfaring Stranger grabs hold of your heart and doesn't let go until the final notes of the piece. Masterful orchestration and innovative yet sensitive treatment of the original folk song characterize this arrangement, which is sure to become a classic work for wind band. Exquisite! 10535895 Band Set & Score. . . . . .89.00 We May Rise—arr. Preston Hazzard. This tender melody was originally a choral work entitled All Praise to Thee with text based on a chorale written by Martin Luther and first published in 1524. This wonderfully musical melody has been beautifully reimagined for this outstanding work for wind band. The wide variety of instrumental colors is extremely effective in capturing and enhancing the rich harmonies and haunting melody of the original. 10910750 Band Set & Score. . . . . .75.00 West Highlands Sojourn—Robert Sheldon. Inspired by the composer's journey through the western hill country of England and Wales, this delightful piece borrows from folk melodies he heard on a river near the Scottish border. The three sections of the piece provide very effective contrast and, with Sheldon's artful scoring, this is an excellent choice for concert or contest. Splendid! 2284255 Band Set & Score. . . . . .88.00 When Heroes Campaign—Joshua A. Idio. Filled with dark harmonies and intense rhythms, this work is a thrilling campaign for band with plenty of excitement and adventure for all! 11623120 Band Set & Score. . . . . .65.00 Winds of Change—Randall Standridge. Winds that flow across the landscape now provide energy - and the inspiration for this piece. The quiet introduction depicts the great open spaces that stretch for miles as gentle morning breezes begin. Small gusts of wind, represented by scale passages and arpeggiated figures, dance across the landscape. The pace picks up until the music soars, much like the wind racing across the land, turning the turbines and charging exuberantly towards the future. 10604532 Band Set & Score. . . . . .90.00 Windstorm—Vince Gassi. The forecast: gusting winds, increasing tempi, with a mix of powerful brass and thunderous percussion, and a 100 percent chance of participation. This will sweep over your audience like a powerful tempest, the calm before the storm foreshadowing the gentle zephyr calmly flowing through the lyrical section. (4:00) 11616379 Band Set & Score. . . . . .80.00 A Winter's Journey—Randall Standridge. Take your band over the river and through the wood with this exciting winter work. Incorporating themes from the classic winter melody, this compound meter piece explodes with energy and joy as it depicts a sleigh ride across a snowy landscape. Driving rhythms, colorful percussion, and soaring melodies combine to create a festive secular work, perfect for your next winter concert or festival performance! 11622900 Band Set & Score. . . . . .80.00 Concert & Contest | Medium jwpepper.com/ec Music you can connect with.
