Usually in a supporting role, they now lead the way through a playful musical journey, with the rest of the orchestra providing a rich and colorful backdrop. 11639905 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . . M 70.00 Snow Day!—Steve Olson. Experience the joy of a snowy day. Composed to include every orchestra member, this delightful piece captures the essence of winter fun while providing musical challenges for all skill levels. From lyrical melodies to lively rhythms, this will become a favorite in your orchestra's repertoire. Perfect for holiday concerts or any winter-themed performance, this piece will leave your audience feeling warm and festive. 11574831 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . . M 55.00 Starlight Tango—Meagan Thorup. Inspired by Latin American music, this dramatic work brings the energy and allure of tango to the string orchestra. The score incorporates special performance effects including tambor, chicharra, and latigo, giving players an authentic taste of the style's fiery rhythms and textures. Each section enjoys melodic moments of its own, making this piece both a showcase of independence and a musical dance under the stars. 11642916 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . . M 70.00 Talon & Tether—Lauren Spavelko. Soar with the fierce energy of a falcon in flight. Driving rhythms, sharp contrasts, and sweeping melodies create a dramatic soundscape that captures the tug-of-war between instinct and control. With bold textures and a shifting pulse, this piece invites performers to unleash both power and finesse in equal measure. 11642914 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . . M 65.00 Waltz of the Wicked—Kirt N. Mosier. This wild piece calls for violins and violas to use a one-finger glissando, creating a very eerie effect. Cellos will get to strum three-note chords with their thumb while canonic passages make your group work together as never before. Wicked! 2478798 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . . M 65.00 Original Concert Works Medium-Advanced Fiddle Frenzy—Tyler Arcari. Inspired by the toe- tapping, frenzied accelerando that only comes from the unabated joy of playing music in front of a live audience, "Fiddle Frenzy" is an original take on a classical vibe! Composer Tyler Arcari wants your audience to get up and slap their knees! 11615099 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . MA 70.00 Final Voyage—Kathryn Griesinger. Set sail on a grand adventure, beginning with a noble opening theme. Like the fresh dawn, a motif in D major rises, signaling a hopeful start to a new day. A sudden tempo change introduces new rhythmic activity, featuring busy doubled eighth notes and double stops as the journey picks up momentum. The travelers take a turn to A major, continuing to develop the motif before the music drifts slowly into a mysterious channel in parallel A minor. The mists of uncertainty are only brief, however, as the music builds in power, like the bright sun breaking through. As the horizon is clearly seen once again, the original theme returns, broad and majestic, to carry the adventurers to a glorious finale. (3:25) 11619604 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . MA 70.00 Flight of the Ice Dragon—Kirt Mosier. Follow the odyssey of the mythical ice dragon's flight over frozen tundra in this exciting piece, soaring over mountain peaks and resting in snow-covered valleys. The beauty of the ice dragon's flight is captured in this musical landscape. Challenging, but well worth the effort! (3:55) 11619605 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . MA 75.00 Ghosts of Bohemia (Dance for String Orchestra)—Joshua Reznicow. Intense, wild, and energetic – all sections are offered a lot of action, musical energy, and technical challenges. Performers and audiences will surely enjoy the rapid-fire sixteenth-note passages contrasting with the larger sweeping phrases, and the string effects such as strum/gitara pizz, trills, glissandos, and double-stops that all help to shape the colors and characters of this adventurous piece. 11574019 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . MA 75.00 Human Enigma—Ash Madni. This is a piece that has seen several iterations, originally composed for the Trance genre, then modified for string quartet and finally string orchestra. I was inspired by how human beings solve complex problems. Multiple thought processes occur at the same time, all independent, or sparked off each other. The individual may dwell on these patterns for a while until finally, a single voice emerges. This is the decision or the solution to the problem we seek. Human beings are amazing and will never cease to amaze me. In short, the human being is an enigma. 11624548 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . MA 55.00 The Iliad (Fall of Troy)—Soon Hee Newbold. This prequel and companion work to Soon Hee Newbold's The Odyssey is a powerful, cinematic work. The Iliad takes players through the battle scenes of the Trojan War and the story of the legendary Achilles. Harp and/or piano add another layer to this epic tone poem. Riveting! 11619648 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . MA 75.00 Sleep—Eric Whitacre. A brand-new orchestration of Eric Whitacre's popular composition for concert band, this arrangement for string orchestra is a lush and achingly beautiful work. This haunting chorale begins softly and slowly, then blossoms to a powerful climax. For a breathtaking experience, add the optional SATB chorus with original text by celebrated American poet Charles Anthony Silvestri. 11523045 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . MA 85.00 Song of Love and Loss—Rob Wiffin. Mysterious, poignant, and beautiful. A well crafted exercise in expression and a great addition to any concert program. 11634592 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . MA 65.00 Subterranean Dialogues—Richard Meyer. Subterranean Dialogues, by Richard Meyer, is an edgy-sounding selection that is the perfect piece to feature your advanced string bass section while keeping all the players in your orchestra on their toes. The music unfolds as a series of dialogues, each a duet between the basses and a different section of the orchestra—-violas, second violins, celli, and first violins. The wide variety of time signatures, shifting modes, and unusual orchestrations will challenge all of your musicians and delight your audience while putting the unsung heroes of your ensemble in a well-deserved spotlight. 11511854 String Orchestra . . . . . . . .
