On Green Dolphin Street—Bronislau

Wolpe can make On Green Dolphin Street

hot shout chorus make this an impressive
chart. Optional parts are included for flute,
horn in F, baritone horn/tenor sax and tuba.
It's a superb chart you will enjoy for years to

One for Daddy-O—Nat Adderley/arr.
Mike Tomaro. This minor blues was
written by Nat Adderley for Chicago DJ,
Holmes "Daddy-O" Daylie and was first
heard on Cannonball Adderley's seminal
album, "Somethin' Else." This well-crafted
arrangement swings just like the original,
and includes a flexible solo section for any
soloist. Written-out bass lines and piano
voicings are included as well as chord/scale
sheets in all keys. Highly recommended!

Out of the Doghouse—Erik Morales. This
outstanding shuffle chart sounds like a big
old freight train coming down the tracks,
and it just builds and builds! There's a
wonderful section after the optional solos
that features a powerful sax soli without the
rhythm section, and there are great breaks
for piano and drums throughout. There are
also some independent bari sax lines and
optional written solos for alto, tenor, and
guitar. The lead trumpet range is to written
A above the staff, and there's an optional
ending with lead trumpet notes up to C. This
is a hot chart! Our highest recommendation!

Pfrancing (No Blues)—arr. John
La Barbera. This modern jazz band
arrangement reimagines a Miles Davis
classic with a driving blues shuffle that
feels as fresh as ever. The chart opens

texture and momentum. Swinging hard
while remaining accessible, it preserves

Please Don't Talk About Me When I'm
Gone—Sam H. Stept/arr. Dallas C. Burke.
Bright swing energy highlights this classic
big-band chart for medium-easy jazz band,
with clear section features and accessible
momentum. Low brass, trumpets, and
saxes share soli statements before flexible
tenor and trumpet solo opportunities.
Ensemble shout sections bring satisfying
drive and contrast. It's an effective choice
for developing swing feel and sectional
confidence while delivering a polished,
upbeat chart students can enjoy performing.

Plenty of Nothing—Monika Herzig/arr.
Ryan Fraley. A straight-ahead modal swing
chart set at Grade 3 features a fast swing
feel with a purposeful groove, giving the
ensemble room to settle in and shape the
time. The opening melodic statement pairs
alto 1 and trumpet 2 for a distinctive, lightly
textured lead sound. An open solo section
allows any instrument to step forward,
supported by a note-for-note transcription
of the recorded guitar solo for reference and
study. Accessible rhythms and supportive
orchestration make this a practical and
rewarding choice for developing groups
exploring modal playing in a swing context.

Sharp. The Irving Berlin classic gets the
Sing, Sing, Sing treatment here. Let your
drummer shine on this fun romp!

The Queen Bee (Full Score Edition)—
Sammy Nestico. The quintessential
recording of this chart was captured on the
1968 album Basie Straight Ahead. Unlike
many of Sammy's charts for Basie, this one
starts with the saxes and rhythm section
instead of the more typical piano solo. Brass
will need bucket mutes to get the right color
in the ensemble, and while this chart is not as
fast as some, it still demands the ensemble
to play at their highest level to make it swing.
11576721 Jazz Ensemble . . . . M 60.00
Scott Road Sprint—Craig Skeffington/arr.
Terry White. An up-tempo swing chart, this
dynamic piece combines bebop lines with
big band swing. This chart performs well
at a variety of tempos, ensuring it sounds
great even at a medium-up groove.

Shiny Stockings—Frank Foster/arr. Greg
Yasinitsky. Frank Foster's composition
Shiny Stockings is one of the greatest jazz
tunes ever for big band. Arranged by Greg
Yasinitsky and scored at an accessible
level, this chart has all the ingredients you
expect plus a few short section solis and an
ensemble shout chorus. This arrangement
stays very close to the original, yet is more
accessible for developing groups. Other
features include a written solo for 2nd
trumpet with the lead trumpet range to written
A above the staff. This Basie classic belongs
in every jazz library! Highly recommended!
Optional expanded instrumentation.

Sing, Sing, Sing—Louis Prima/trans.
Mike Lewis. Here it is...perhaps the most
recognizable swing tune of all time! This
incredible transcription is as close as you're
going to come to the original (which included
clarinet and less than a full compliment of
brass). This chart is scored for a standard
5 saxes, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones and
rhythm, but aside from that, it is the original
as played by Benny Goodman. Every lick
is there, including all the Gene Krupa drum
breaks! This chart is a must for every big
band's library!
2411486 Jazz Ensemble . . . . M 62.00
Sister Sadie—Horace Silver/arr. Bryan
Kidd. Experience this hard-bop style work
that really gets things kickin'. The saxes
open with the famous head and this chart
has been made more accessible, yet
remains true to the original. There are
a wealth of performance suggestions
included to make this chart work at many
ability levels. Containing all the elements
of Horace Silver's original tune, this
arrangement can be opened up to feature
more soloists than just the tenor (provided
with a written solo and changes). A sax soli
feature helps to bring this one home! An
outstanding arrangement of a jazz standard!

Softly, as in a Morning Sunrise—
Sigmund Romberg/arr. Paul Baker. Paul
Baker's take on this wonderful Sigmund
Romberg standard is very exciting right off
the top! It switches between straight-eighth
and relaxed swing feels at around 150 bpm.
The creative and tasty features include a
written trumpet 1 solo on flugelhorn, written
or improvised solos for trumpet and tenor,
an outstanding sax soli, and a solo for
drums over a horns interlude. The set also
includes an auxiliary percussion part and
optional parts for flute and vibes. Highly
recommended for any performance and
especially for contests and festivals!

Something for Perkins—Craig Skeffington.
Layered swing writing defines this jazz
ensemble chart for advanced high school,
inspired by musician Dale Perkins. Long
legato lines and frequent suspended
harmonies create a free-flowing feel as
melody, countermelody, ensemble hits, and
rhythm section groove overlap. Moments
of tight alignment, an a cappella wind soli
after the solos, and sustained phrasing
challenges reward careful listening and
balance. A strong competition option for
high school groups ready to refine classic
big band sound and ensemble cohesion.
11678958 Jazz Ensemble . . . . M 60.00
Soul Sermon—Mike Kamuf. Dynamic shifts
between traditional swing and a New Orleans
second-line groove give this medium-level
jazz chart constant momentum and a unique
stylistic contrast. Written solos for several
sections lead into a unified soli passage
where figures alternate between high and
low voices. The music builds naturally into an
energetic shout chorus, creating an exciting
full-band showcase.
11687296 Jazz Ensemble . . . . M 55.00
Splanky—Neal Hefti/arr. Sammy Nestico.
For years, directors have been waiting for
the release of the original Basie version of
this great blues classic. It's full of Sammy's
unique ensemble writing and has plenty of
room for blues solos.
2185155 Jazz Ensemble . . . . M 54.00
Streetlight Shuffle—Drew Zaremba. The
evolution of this chart is epic! It grows
from a whisper to a roar, with everything
in between along the way. Think Gordon
Goodwin meets the Bunny Hop with some
musical zaniness built in.
11615119 Jazz Ensemble . . . . M 55.00
Summertime (from "Porgy and Bess")—
George Gershwin/arr. Dave Rivello.
This medium swing trumpet solo feature
contains tons of jazz substance! Arranger
Dave Rivello captures the distinctive
Miles Davis-Harmon Mute sound in this
outstanding chart that features both the
band and soloist "a la Miles." The trumpet
2 solo part goes to written F on the top line,
and the lead trumpet goes to written A.
Highly recommended!
