together with short narrations that move from
the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy to
the miracle of Christ's birth, the suite closes
with a celebration around the manger with all of
creation. The actual orchestrations are modified
from Smith's recording for use by churches.
An inspiring recorded accompaniment track
is performed by the 60-piece City of Prague
Philharmonic. This suite is perfect to incorporate
into a broader Christmas program or can be used
as a separate performance piece.

story of Jesus' coming to earth, which culminates
in that glorious "night for rejoicing." It is scored for
choir, congregation and optional children's choir

oboe, clarinet, horn, cello, timpani, percussion and
handbells. The eight choral movements, along with
prelude and underscore, are replete with familiar
carols as well as newly composed music. They
are separated by narration that can be presented

narrators interject with familiar scripture passages
and personal reflections, while an intriguing array
of musical styles that range from an energetic
Celtic style to a simple folk melody and the lush
imagery of a ballad all beautifully express the

performance, an accompaniment CD featuring
that orchestration, a few instruments pulled
