title, Groove Music is a work that focuses on various
combinations of rhythms. The first section introduces

of color and rhythm!

n Joy—Frank Ticheli. The feeling of simple, unabashed
joy is expressed throughout this entire work. There is
the frequent presence of sudden and dramatic stylistic
contrasts, as well as several climactic moments.
A final reminder of the main tune is shouted out in
octaves, bringing the piece to an exuberant finish.
