Turn your string orchestra into an old-time percolator with this humorous little cha-cha that recalls all the happy sounds of the family coffee maker. With musical squeaks, blurbles, slurps and wheezes, this will put a smile on every coffee lover in the audience! Peasant as the smell of your favorite java, the piece will leave you tapping your feet and swaying a bit at the Latin beat. A musical and culinary treat! 10280401 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . . 45.00 ConquistadorDeborah Baker Monday. A dramatic work with a hint of romance, Conquistador! depicts the life and adventures of the Spanish explorers. Rhythmic motives in A minor provide a glimpse into life on the trail, and the softer, lyrical section depicts a quiet night under the stars. It's a great way to bring history into the music rehearsal! 2703086 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . . 60.00 n Contrasts in E MinorFrancis Feese. This unique and interesting work is divided into three sections. It begins with a catchy, "spy-sounding" opening theme, which is contrasted with an emotional slower section, and ends with an exciting 6/8 time signature galop that features the lower strings. It is standard string orchestra literature that comes highly recommended for intermediate level groups. 2136216 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . . 45.00 n CreaturesBrian Balmages. This is one of the coolest original pieces to come around in years! It's great for year-round use, but would be especially scary at Halloween. The composer describes it as "a dark and sinister night full of strange happenings and ghoulish encounters." Opening with a menacing march as creatures emerge from the darkness, dissonances soon appear in upper strings, including the chance to play any pitch in the chaos! Finally the audience hears footsteps in retreat from the coming dawn. A wonderful vehicle for introducing aleatoric music to students in a fun and creative way! 10027353 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . . 45.00 CrusadeVince Gassi. This exciting original work, for strings and percussion, opens with an ominous theme. It continues to build throughout, culminating in a powerful, climactic ending. Set in Dorian mode, this piece overflows with vibrant and dramatic energy, conjuring images of strength, majesty, and passion. 10310317 String Orchestra, Percussion Req. . . . . . . . . . 40.00 Curse of the Rosin Eating ZombiesRichard Meyer. It had to happen! Richard Meyer's wildly successful Rosin Eating Zombies From Outer Space created an insatiable hunger for more of the same! It seems that string players (and directors) love to get a chance to: Give blood curdling screams; knock on their instruments, bow behind the bridge for that "psycho sound"; use pizzicato, tremolo, trills, make munching noises and talk like zombies! Detailed directions are given for the faint of heart. Keep string playing fun; choose this highly recommended winner! 2472802 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . . 55.00 l CycloneDaniel Baldwin. This work was inspired by the painting "Twisted Ironies", a beautiful portrayal of a tornado, which was given to the composer as a gift by the artist. The piece alternates dramatic lyricism with driving string and percussion statements. 10462305 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . . 40.00 Dark AdventureRalph Ford. It's ghostly! It's creepy! Your orchestra will love it! From the driving opening motives to the quirky gypsy-sounding theme, this is haunted-house music at its best! You can play this with either full or string orchestra, but the percussion section is really vital and should be used in both cases. This is recommended and will thrill and delight your audience! A winner! 2466837 String Orch or Full Orch . . . 58.00 l Dark Islandarr. Brad Pfeil. This beautiful Scottish melody, written about the island of Benbecula off the west coast of Scotland, will captivate both performer and audience. This arrangement allows all instruments to play the beautiful melody. 10453666 String Orchestra . . . . . . . . . 45.00 Section Features Allegro in D—Vivaldi/arr. Frackenpohl. In this fine arrangement of Vivaldi's "Concerto in C for Two Trumpets," the solo trumpet lines have been transferred to first and second violins. It's a stirring adaptation which retains the characteristic "trumpet" sound of the original, and a delightful concert selection for string orchestra!
