Vanishing PointeRichard Meyer. This original
selection will challenge every section of your
more accomplished high school string orchestra
both musically and technically. Jazz rhythms and
an intense mood dominate much of the piece,
but make way briefly for a lyrical middle section
featuring lush, beautiful harmonies. The "vanishing
points" are rendered by contrary motion, crescendos
and decrescendos through the work and a brief solo
section for two violins adds to the interest.
