A funky Latin groove is the foundation for this infectious chart with a catchy melody! Oliver Nelson's arrangement of Shake a Lady is a great chart that will cause the player's heads to sway and the audience to clap along. Originally recorded by Cannonball Adderley on his album Domination, this chart features the melody stated by an alto saxophone and trumpet duet, while the ensemble takes on the backup role that further enhances the excitement. There are even percussion parts to keep the trumpet players happy when they're not playing. There's some short solo space for trumpet and alto saxophone and the ranges are quite moderate. Paul Jennings' masterful arrangement from 1982 has stood the test of time and sounds as fresh today as it did when it was written. The authentic sounds of Chick Corea's classic are faithfully captured and this new edition which is notated in cut-time, rather than 4/4, makes it much easier to read. MA 52.00 Armando's RhumbaChick Corea/arr. Mike Tomaro. From Chick Corea's My Spanish Heart album, this tune is not really a "rhumba," but rather an extremely energetic samba. Master composer Patrick Williams has created a superior chart in every way with Aurora. It is a roaring samba at 120 bpm with optional horns in F, full instrumentation, two auxiliary percussion parts, and plenty of solo space for a variety of instruments, plus a huge shout chorus. Here's another great arrangement of one of Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays' biggest hits. Originally recorded on their album Letter From Home, Beat 70 is an exciting up-tempo Latin/fusion chart that will leave your band and audiences humming this catchy melody for the rest of the day! Ranges are mostly modest and rhythmic concerns are minimal. There's solo space for tenor saxophone, trumpet, piano and drums. This chart is a must-have! 10519914 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . .
