Paul Clark arranges Silent Night exactly the way it should be... as a pretty ballad in 3/4 loaded with luscious chords, a smooth written solo and a quiet ending that's as pretty as starlight. The melody is traded from section to section, giving each a "day" in a predictable way until it's the pianist's turn. Then things change abruptly and some funky fun begins. This leads to an open solo section over only two chords, but the background parts are so good that the solos could be omitted if desired. A few measures of piano sets the melody up again, this time as a canon, leading to a big ending. Highly recommended! 10521260 Jazz Ensemble & Strings . . . . . . . . . . ME 50.00 n The Twelve Days of Christmasarr. Paul Clark. Everybody in the band gets their own special "day" in this creative holiday rock arrangement of the familiar tune. The melody gets traded off from section to section in a fairly predictable way until it's the piano players turn. Then things change abruptly and some funky fun begins. This leads to an open solo section over only two chords, and the background parts sound so good you could even omit the solos if desired. A few bars of piano sets up the melody again, this time in a canon, which leads to a big ending. At least 12 days of creativity in one fun and easy to prepare chart! Highly recommended! 10281886 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . ME 48.00 4 Up on the Housetoparr. Peter Blair. Here's a great chart on a holiday favorite that will go together quickly and sound great! After a short intro it settles in at around 128 bpm and swings well. There are no individual solos, just effective ensemble all the way. More features include an easy modulation and optional parts for expanded instrumentations. It sounds great and it's accessible... perfect for that all-important Christmas or winter concert! 10513891 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . ME 48.00 4 Angled Angels—arr. Bob Turner. This holiday chart is a down-and-dirty funk chart based on the traditional favorite Angels We Have Heard on High. With a nice feel, it features syncopated rhythms, an interesting chord progression, and a written or improvised solo for tenor saxophone. Flexible instrumentation is a highlight in that it can be played with four, five or six winds with rhythm section. Additional parts are included so that it can be played with virtually any combination of winds and rhythm section. The piano player can have fun with the rock organ stop on the digital piano and all the fills can be played as is or ad libbed. There are also suggested solo parts for the solo section.
