6 00-45217 Today we have gathered to remember and to celebrate Calvary's tree, recognized around the world as a symbol of our faith. Calvary's tree, where Jesus drank the cup of justice so that we might drink the cup of joy…where He groaned so that we might have endless song…where He died so that we might live. We are here to sing an "alleluia of praise" for our salvation accomplished on that tree. It is an anthem of redemption…a song which found its voice long ago as crowds moved toward Jerusalem, the City of David, to celebrate the Passover. When Jesus joined the procession, He was riding on the back of a donkey and His followers were ready to proclaim Him King. They spread their garments and tree branches across the road before Him…creating a carpet of adoration and praise. Excitement spread like fire in a dry field as the multitude sang and shouted together: Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Ride on! Ride on! In majesty, ride on! Reader 1: Reader 2: Reader 1: Reader 2: Choir: Women: Men: Choir: For Preview Only
