COACH WALKER: As a matter of fact, yes, you are. You see, Samuel was still
pretty young when his mother sent him to live in the temple
so he could learn to be a priest. One night when he was in
bed, Samuel heard somebody call him. He thought it was Eli,
the priest, calling him. So he went and said, "Here I am." Eli
said it wasn't him, so Samuel went back to bed. But Samuel
heard it again. Three times the same thing happened!
ESTHER:
I've heard about that. It's called a phantom ring, where you
feel like your phone's ringing, but it's really not.
COACH WALKER:
Well, not exactly Esther. You see, God really was calling.
When it happened the third time, Eli told Samuel that if it
happened again, to answer by telling God to go ahead and
speak, because he was listening.
COACH WALKER: It turned out that God had a special message just for
Samuel, but He wanted to wait till He was absolutely
( music begins to "Listen") sure he was listening.
