(spoken dry) Each December, our hearts and minds are drawn once
again to Christmas through the timeless carols of the season. The
familiar melodies and enduring lyrics have become as much a part of
our traditions as the dressing of the tree. But, even before the Savior
was born, the song was already established in the story as Mary offered
praise for what God had done. (music begins to "It Came upon a Midnight
Clear/Glorious") Scripture also tells us about a band of shepherds out
on a hillside, watching their flocks by night, when the heavens came
alive with not just one, but a host of angels praising the Lord and
singing, "Glory to God in the highest."
