! Scene 1 ANTONIO: MARIA: SOPHIA: TIA: Alright everyone, are we ready for tonight's show? (Everyone is lined up to report on their areas.) Your trapeze artists, Maria … (each saying her name in rapid succession, with some choreographed movement) Sophia … And Tia … ALL THREE: Are ready to fly! ANTONIO: My wonderful nieces. And where's Bruno, our lion tamer? (Bruno hurries in, looking frantic.) Did you say lion? BRUNO: ANTONIO: BRUNO: ANTONIO: (suspiciously) Yes … why? No reason! Not again. Where's your lion?! SFX 1: "Lion Growl" (screaming is heard off stage) BRUNO: SHEP: ANTONIO: MAX: (pointing to where the scream came from) Maybe the ticket booth? (he runs out) I've been counting sheep all night, sir … all one hundred are accounted for and ready to dance! Thank you, Shep. (Knife thrower comes in with thick glasses, bumping into things.
