In elementary school, I loved reading the biographies of inventors. However, due to my early musical training and my lack of mechanical reasoning, I gravitated toward creating songs and poetry. Later in life, when I tried to discover what kind of music I would create, I determined that there was nothing more powerful than helping people to express themselves spiritually. The Bible calls us to sing a new song. A new song is for today; it is for this moment—a living, breathing song for those who have life and breath. I have heard people assume that all composers and their music will be remembered far beyond their lifetimes. In my case, I consider this unlikely. I believe it is our calling (and this is enough) to create music that will impact our own generation; music that helps the people around us express and experience their faith and worship the Lord. Out of the thousands of notes that I have written, if a handful live beyond my days, I would consider it a profound blessing. For now, I am content to offer a new song that is for today, for those who live and breathe and rise to praise the Lord. Order Today! | Call 1-800-345-6296 | Online at jwpepper.com
