The lead trumpet range is to written A above the staff with an optional high D. There are two auxiliary percussion parts included that really make this chart come alive, plus optional flute and vibraphone parts. Mike Lewis. Glenn Miller's band made this a huge hit in World War II. Here it's scored for young players, with no individual solos, very modest brass ranges, and plenty of ensemble sound. Easy to rehearse and perform, it swings right along and is playable with optional reduced or expanded instrumentation. This terrific swing chart is inspired by the iconic Clark Terry version featuring two trumpets with plungers. Played around 112 bpm, it has sample solos provided for tenor 1 and trumpet 2, a hot sax soli, and a stop-time shout chorus with bari sax setting the groove. Check this fine chart out!
