ber, you will find a mighty cloud of witnesses there that have gone before you, urging you to run the race with perseverance. (KYLE touches the pile of books on the table.) I hope many of them spoke to you tonight. They have been my prayer partners for my entire ministry. And I join them in saying to you: Do not grow weary. Do not lose heart. But fix your eyes on Jesus, who sits at the right hand of the throne of God. He wants you to meet Him there… this Christmas… this moment. (KYLE opens his Bible to read as REV. JAMES returns to his Bible. Lights up on the choir and soloist as they begin to sing "All Rise.") Song: All Rise (At the conclusion of "All Rise," the lights dim on the choir as KYLE re- turns to the letter and REV. JAMES speaks once again.) ]66 (Music starts for "In His Presence (Worship Medley)." This is a direct segue from the end of "All Rise." REV. JAMES speaks over Measures 1 – 8.) REV. JAMES: I wrote you this letter, Kyle, because I knew you'd want to feel the presence of Christmas about now – and I also knew you wouldn't know where to begin to look for it. You need to remem- ber, son, that Christmas is not found in familiar surroundings or routines. You can't find it by decorating your house or sending out cards or opening a gift. You can only experience the presence of Christmas… by drawing close to the presence of Christ. (pause) Merry Christmas, pastor. May your ministry here be long and blessed. (REV. JAMES's light goes out [or he slowly exits.] KYLE folds the letter, places it back in the Bible, and slowly sinks to his knees in prayer. Lights come up on the choir as they sing "In His Presence (Worship Medley)." The audience may join in worshipping.) Song: In His Presence (Worship Medley) (During Measures 28 – 33 [the instrumental interlude] KYLE prays aloud.) KYLE: (with heartfelt conviction) Lord Jesus. How I long to experience Your presence this Christmas. You've promised that if we draw close to You, You will draw close to us. And that is my prayer tonight – that everyone You bring my way may see Your presence living in me. Oh, soli Deo gloria. Amen. 125 For Preview Only
