To Hold This Dream
The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the
outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. (1 Samuel 16:7)
Every single promise of God was fulfilled the day the angel came first to Mary and then to
Joseph.
All the brokenness and sin, all the hopes and dreams of centuries were gathered there in
that moment.
And Mary's response? Yes—yes. "I am the Lord's servant. Let it happen to me according to
Your word."
Joseph too immediately did what the angel of the Lord commanded him.
And so, it was through a young girl surrendered and a righteous, obedient man, eternity
entered time and space.
The doorway to mankind's redemption was complete.
