(Psalm 72:11) Into the kingdom of men a Baby is born, a King to be sure but a redemptive Savior-King, not an earthly king. Wise men came asking, "Where is this King of the Jews? We have seen His star in the east. We've come to worship Him." Here in lies the problem. Herod cannot imagine nor can he tolerate any kingdom but his own. These outsiders—these foreigners were coming to his palace and talking of worship—for another king? No! If this Baby was the true king of the Jews then what was Herod? There could be no room for another king. So it was as it had always been on earth, thrones were occupied by men of envy and pride, kings hungry for power. For this King, there would be no palace. The crown He will wear will be one of thorns. But make no mistake, the kingdom of this world will become the Kingdom of our God and of His Christ and He will triumph over sin and death! And to Him—every earthly king will bow! © 2018 PraiseGathering Music (ASCAP) (a division of Randy Vader Music LLC, admin. by Music Services, www.musicservices.org). All rights reserved.
