CAST OF CHARACTERS
(in order of appearance)
Eugenia/Eugene: Teacher/Children's Director who takes herself a little too seriously.
(Female or Male) Her biggest moment was at the 1978 State Bible Quiz Finals.
She would've won, but couldn't pronounce Habakkuk. She has never
gotten over it, so it overshadows everything she does.
Joy: A bouncy, free-spirited girl who is completely clueless and misses all
(Female) the details.
Zach: He is aloof and is the 'leader' of the group. He is 'way cool,' so isn't
(Male) interested in anything Eugenia says unless it sounds fun. He considers
himself a musician because he plays drums and wants to start a rock band.
Steve: The flirty, dry comedian of the group.
(Male)
Joe: Steve's sidekick. He speaks only in "hashtags," and often plays off of
(Male or Female) Steve's comments.
Izzy: Doesn't fit in with the rest of the group. Has a doom and gloom outlook
(Female) on life and is shy. She recently found out her real name is Izaiah "with
a 'z'," and is traumatized. She carries the shame of having a misspelled
Bible name.
Narrators 1-4: Scene 5. These parts can be spoken by Cast or Choir members.
