TOUR GUIDE: Enters with sign that says PARABLE OF THE LOST SHEEP. (SHEPHERD enters; MORRIS, THEO, and CALEB follow compass to him.) SHEPHERD: Excuse me, have any of you seen a sheep? MORRIS: You lost a sheep? CALEB:
Theo! This is the same story Jesus was telling! Mr. Shepherd, can you describe the lost animal? (in rhythm) Is it a white sheep? Black sheep?
THEO: (in rhythm or sing-song) Has it any wool?
SHEPHERD: Yes sir, yes sir… three bags full. CALEB:
Is it a special sheep?
SHEPHERD: I guess you might say it's just an ordinary sheep, but every sheep is special to me. I've got a song about it. And to help me sing it, I'd like to introduce the flock. Please give a warm welcome to Baa-bara and the Bah-Bettes!
(CHOIR applauds as BAA-BARA and the BAH-BETTES, a group of glamorous sheep, enter with guitars and instruments.)
BAA-BARA: All right, girls… "EWES" ready?
BAH-BETTES: (pointing to themselves) EWES ready! BAA-BARA:
Strike up the Baaa-nd! 10 / 28 SONG: FIND THAT SHEEP!
A LITTLE DIRECTION: The Bah-bettes ("Ewes ready!") can be quite a large group of singers and dancers. Costume suggestion: black leotards and tights covered by a marabou- trimmed dress, white fuzzy leg warmers, black socks on the hands, and a glamorous headband suggestive of sheep ears. The LOST SHEEP can be a young child in simple sheep costume—bring him/her out to dance joyfully when found by the SHEPHERD.
