Because Jesus was born to be our Savior! It was the best day ever! DAD: That's right! The best way we can celebrate is to share the joy of Jesus' birth with others, and love one another during this special time. So, even if we can't have some of the things we normally do at Christmas, at least we have each other to share the joy. (Mom begins to sing "The First Noel" a cappella, and the whole family joins in, one by one)* MOM: The First Noel DAD: the angel did say— TAYLOR: Was to certain poor shepherds MARCUS: in fields where they lay; ALEX: In fields where they— GABBI: lay keeping their sheep, On a cold winter's night that was so deep. Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, Born is the King of Israel. (The whole family shares a warm group hug) GABBI: Hey! I have an idea! We can have a DIY Christmas just like Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus, but in our own way! MARCUS: What do you mean?? GABBI: Taylor! Go get brushes! Marcus! Go get paints! Alex! Go get drop cloths! I'll get the pencils! And don't ask questions! (Cue "Getting Supplies"—Kids look around at each other curiously, shrug, then run off to get the materials. Gabbi grabs a canister of pencils from nearby, takes one, stands on the step stool to reach, and begins to draw a big Christmas tree on a blank portion of the wall. After a few moments, Kids re-enter, they each exclaim when they realize what Gabbi is doing.) MARCUS: Whoa! ALEX: Nice dude! TAYLOR: Great idea Gabbi! GABBI: It's a DIY Christmas Tree!! (The whole family begins to joyfully mime painting the tree on the wall while singing together. After a few moments, the wall rotates to reveal a pre-painted Christmas tree.) "The First Noel with A DIY Christmas Reprise" (Family and Choir sing and perform blocking/choreography, then curtain/lights out) Bows
