CAST 1: Because there are church people out there. And in church, they never
argue about silly things like that. You'll confuse them.
STORYTELLER 6: Oh, you're right. Sorry.
CAST 1: Next time, argue about something important—like what kind of music to
sing.
STORYTELLER 5: O.K. (The STORYTELLERS move back to their microphones as CAST 1
rejoins the rest of the cast.)
STORYTELLER 6: Now where were we? Oh yeah...Jonah was swallowed up by a...large
aquatic creature.
STORYTELLER 5: And he soon found himself sitting in the belly of that giant animal.
(The two CAST MEMBERS holding the blue cloth exit, revealing JONAH sitting forlornly in the
middle of the stage.)
STORYTELLER 6: It was obvious now, that running away from the Lord wasn't such a great
idea.
STORYTELLER 5: He was still alive, but he was all alone in the dark—and far away from
everyone he loved and everything he knew.
