This is it...the chart you've been waiting to get your hands on! This tune has long been a rockin' favorite, and the version by the Brian Setzer Orchestra is even hotter! Dave Wolpe has arranged Rock This Town almost note for note right off the recording, and has included solo space for a screaming guitar solo ala the Setzer recording. No doubt about it... this chart will completely energize your kids! 2410223 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . 55.00 4 Sack of WoeJulian Adderley/arr. Mark Taylor. Originally recorded by the Cannonball Adderley Quintet, here's a classic jazz tune that works great for younger ensembles. Arranged here in an attractive shuffle funk style, there's nice balance between a small group flavor and riffs scored for the entire ensemble. Suggested solos are included for alto sax and trumpet along with chord/scale sheets in all keys. An all-time favorite in the jazz repertoire, this is highly recommended! 10556794 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . 50.00 n SanduClifford Brown/arr. Chris Sharp. Clifford Brown's Sandu has long been a jam-session staple for anyone that wants to shred some E-flat blues. Chris Sharp delivers great ensemble writing that really swings in the chart's blow section. The familiar melody is featured with a trumpet and tenor sax duet at the top of the tune and returns with the duet at the end. Sandu also includes written or improvised solos for tenor sax and trumpet with a great "rhythm out" interlude between the solos. As if that isn't enough, there's an excellent sax section soli and a roaring shout chorus before the recap! Our highest recommendation! 10517429 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . 65.00 n Saturday Morning BluesMike Tomaro. Mike Tomaro just takes his time in unfolding this outstanding study on the blues for big band! At around 60 bpm, it begins with a laidback solo piano introduction joined by a trumpet soloist leading to the first ensemble statement. It begins to get a little more down and dirty and gradually builds to the solo section. The solos are all about the blues with sultry backgrounds. Then the ensemble trades with the drummer and there's another solo section. Then the band starts to open up, and builds, and builds, and builds, all the while just laying back in that bluesy groove. They don't get any better than this! Very highly recommended! 10513201 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . 56.00 l Saturday Night (Is the Loneliest Night of the Week)arr. Billy Byers. Arranged for and recorded by the Count Basie Orchestra on their album Frankly Basie, this is a medium swing chart in the inimitable style of the Basie band. This arrangement features flute, doubled by the tenor saxophone, and trumpets on the catchy melody. This is combined with wonderful interplay from the ensemble and Basie piano solo fills that have all been written out. There is solo space for flute with changes and written piano. The ensemble writing and brass ranges are reasonable, with the highest note for trumpet being a written D-flat. This is a great addition to any band's library! 10607235 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . 55.00 n Scrapple from the AppleCharlie Parker/arr. David Bandman. Big band bebop!
