Lewis band, this accessible version has a gospel
rock groove that fits perfectly. Played at about 132
bpm with straight eighths, this chart is packed with
goodies like written-out solos for trombone and
trumpet, a lead trumpet range to written G on top
of the staff, a few clever modulations, and a great
development section. Toss in the optional parts to

n I Can't Stop Loving Youarr. Quincy Jones.
Every jazz fan knows it, loves it and has wished it
was in print! And now, this quintessential big-band
arrangement is finally available! As recorded by the
Count Basie Orchestra on their album This Time
by Basie: Hits of the 50s & 60s, Quincy Jones'
arrangement of I Can't Stop Loving You will bring
your audiences to their feet. Beginning with the
Count's rubato piano tremolo, this laid-back shuffle
chart features in-your-face ensemble writing at its
finest. There is short, written-out solo space for
trombone and piano, but mostly this chart simply
swings its tail off with the entire ensemble from
beginning to end! Never has a sad song sounded
so happy! Very highly recommended!

I'm Beginning to See the Lightarr. Paul
Baker. This is a swinger all the way! The tempo can
be anywhere between 132 - 150 bpm and there is
a written trumpet 2 solo. There's plenty of swingin'
ensemble, a great sax section soli plus optional
parts for flute, clarinet, vibes, horn, baritone horn,
and tuba. Add in trumpet plungers and sliding
trombones and it's all great stuff!

I'm Getting Sentimental Over YouGeorge
Bassman/arr. Rick Hirsch. Here's a wonderful
update of Tommy Dorsey's classic theme song. It's
totally playable by high school jazz bands, yet it also
sounds great with college and professional groups.
It's written as a trombone feature throughout (with
optional solo parts included for B-flat and E-flat
instruments), although super-high Dorsey-esque
chops are not required. The solo is mostly written
with a section of improvising around the melody
and ad lib fills at the end. Alternate solo parts for
trumpet and saxophone are included, as well as
optional parts for Clarinet, Flute, Vibes, and French
Horn (doubling the Trombone 1 part). The bass and
piano parts are fully notated. An outstanding ballad
feature for any program!

but the recommended tempo is approximately 108
beats per minute. The chart features a written tenor

be pleased that you're playing one of his songs on
your next concert program! Optional reduced or

Sing, Sing, SingLouie Prima/arr. Victor Lopez.
Yep, this is the Sing, Sing, Sing you know and
love, made famous by Gene Krupa and the Benny
Goodman Orchestra, only arranged for young
players by Victor Lopez. The classic drum solo that
can be opened up for as much excitement as the
crowd can stand, along with a written-out tenor
solo, reasonable brass ranges and lots of meaty
ensembles keep this great chart exciting. It will
also sound full with reduced instrumentation or
with the optional, non-jazz band parts. It's still a
showstopper! Highly recommended!

H
Sing, Sing, SingLouis Prima/trans. Mike Lewis.
Here it is...perhaps the most recognizable swing
tune of all time! This incredible transcription is as
close as you're going to come to the original (which
included clarinet and less than a full compliment
of brass). This chart is scored for a standard 5
saxes, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones and rhythm, but
aside from that, it is the original as played by Benny
Goodman. Every lick is there, including all the Gene
Krupa drum breaks! This chart is a must for every
big band's library!
2411486 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . M 60.00
Sing, Sing, SingLouis Prima/arr. Paul Cook.
Now even your beginning jazz band can swing this
incredibly popular chart that was made famous by
Benny Goodman! You can't find a jazz tune that's
more recognizable, and Paul Cook's arrangement
at this level is just great. You may even think you've
got Gene Krupa playing drums by the time you're
done! This arrangement should be in the library of
every band that plays music at either the very easy
or easy levels.
2354561 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . E 42.00
H Sing, Sing, SingLouis Prima/arr. Gordon
Goodwin. A few twists and turns added to the
original Benny Goodman swing version make this
chart a definite crowd and band pleaser. Gordon
Goodwin's arrangement features a clarinet part
and an alternate alto 1 part in lieu of clarinet. Solo
changes are provided for all saxophone parts and
clarinet, and the lead trumpet range is to high
F-sharp. While not recorded by Goodwin's Big Phat
Band, it's a staple of the band's library and is played
often in live performances. It's a wonderful rendition
of this big band classic!
