Arranger Peter Blair has taken the hot Gordon Goodwin chart Act Your Age and revised it for developing players. "Slick and funky" describes this very accessible arrangement. There are written solos for 1st alto (cued for 2nd alto) and a 1st trumpet solo cued in all four trumpet parts. Here's a wonderful take on the group Toto's classic rock tune from the '80s. With nice dynamic contrasts, an uncomplicated melodic line, and a medium rock groove, this chart is one that younger players can really dig into, yet it will sound mature when performed by a more advanced group.
